More than one workspace
A workspace is a world of its own. It keeps its own categories and tasks, its own labels and its own people, and nothing leaks between them.
You already have room for two. Solo includes a second workspace, and Team has no limit.
You can use them for whatever you like
We never ask what you keep in them. Some people run two businesses and give each one its own. Some keep work in one and the rest of life in the other, so the house move and the committee they somehow ended up running stay out of the invoicing. Some split a client's job from their own admin, because scrolling past your own bookkeeping to find somebody else's job gets old.
It also earns its place when different people should see different things. Something you run with somebody else can live in its own workspace, where nobody has to see more than they need to.
If you only need the two apart in your lists, a category does that, and you keep everything in one place. Make a second workspace when the two really do need to be separate.
You can switch between them
The workspace name is at the top of the sidebar. When you click it, you can pick another one.
Nydli remembers which one you were in, so you land back where you left off.
You don't pay per workspace
The subscription belongs to your account and covers every workspace under it, so a second one costs you nothing extra.
How many you get:
- Solo: two.
- Team: as many as you like.
Settings → Subscription counts what you've used. See Solo and Team.
People are counted separately, as member accesses, and that's the number to watch once you share. On Solo it's just you.
On Team the count covers everybody across all your workspaces, so if the same person is in two of them, they take two places. An invitation holds a place until somebody accepts it.
Start a new one whenever you want
You make one in Settings → Workspaces → Create. You can leave the name empty and rename it later.
Nydli offers to start it from the settings on a workspace you already have, so your date format and your week start come along. It copies the settings, and never the content.
Put one away without deleting it
Three things happen:
- It turns read-only. Nobody can add or change anything in it.
- It drops out of everybody else's workspace list. Only the owner can still open it, and bring it back.
- It still counts towards your workspace and member limits.
That last one catches people out. Archiving won't free up room, so you would have to delete it for that.
You can't undo deleting a workspace
So it asks properly. First it counts up what's in there and shows you all of it:
- Tasks and categories
- Labels
- Hours logged, and files stored
- How many people lose access
Then you type the workspace name exactly as it's shown, and after that the button works.
Everything goes, right away, and there's no Bin for it. The hours go too, so they leave your records as well as your lists.
If there's any chance you'll want it again, archive it instead.
