Tracking time
Time in Nydli always belongs to a task, and through the task to its category. That's what makes the Timesheet automatic: track your hours, and the report is already grouped the way you work.
The timer
Open a task and start the timer. One timer runs at a time — starting a timer on another task stops the one that's running. The favicon shows when a timer is running, so you can spot it from the browser tab.
Manual entries
Forgot to start the timer? Add time manually on the task, with an optional start time of day. Existing entries can be edited or deleted — every entry stays yours to correct.
Each entry lands on a calendar day in your time zone (set in Settings), which is the day it shows under on the Timesheet.
Time and the task lifecycle
- Closing a task stops its running timer. A closed task doesn't accept new time — reopen it first.
- Archived tasks keep all their time on the Timesheet, but can't receive new time.
- Deleting a task removes its time from the Timesheet with it. The delete dialog always tells you how much tracked time is affected. Restoring the task from the Trash brings the time back. See Close, archive or delete?
Turning time tracking off
Not tracking time? Turn off Time tracking under Settings → Features. This hides the timer, the time section in the task editor and the Timesheet — it never touches your data. Turning it back on brings everything back exactly as it was.
