Allowing several labels per task

Most label trees work like a field, and a task takes one label from each tree. Some trees work better as a set you pick several from at once:

You turn it on from the tree's top label​

Open that label on the Labels page and turn on Allow multiple per task in its Edit dialog. The switch applies to every label in the tree, and a tree that allows several labels gets a layers icon.

When you turn it on, you get a confirmation. Nothing already on your tasks changes. The tree just stops holding you to one label, so a task can take several from it.

What you give up​

A tree that allows several labels can no longer group the timesheet. Nydli would have to count the same hours under every label the task carries, and the total would come out wrong.

So if you have grouped the timesheet by that tree, and then you turn this on:

  • The timesheet goes back to grouping by category, and the confirmation says so.
  • The Dashboard's Billable section does the same.

You can only turn it off when no task has two​

A tree goes back to one label per task when no task has more than one from it. If some tasks still have several, Nydli tells you so. Take the extra labels off those tasks first, and then turn the switch off.
