Notifications

If there's something we need to tell you about, we'll do it through the bell in the header. A dot means there's something you haven't read yet.

You get two sorts of thing there. One is your own work, and the other is us telling you what we've built. If you have some of each, they get a heading each, otherwise you just get the list.

What's happened

This is your own work. You hear from the bell when somebody gives you a task, and when something happens to a task you've been given:

• Marked done, or reopened
• Archived, or brought back
• Moved to the Bin, or restored

We don't tell you about a change to the wording. If a colleague tidies up a title, that won't interrupt you, and you can see it in the Activity log anyway.

When a ClickUp import finishes, you hear about it here too. It tells you how many tasks and hours were imported, or that it's waiting for you to decide about the files, or that it stopped before it wrote anything. See Import from ClickUp.

If you share the workspace, you'll also hear when your own access changes. If you own it or you're an admin, you'll hear when somebody accepts an invitation, and when a member is removed.

A payment that didn't go through

If you own the account, you get this one on your bell as well, and it's the only one we mark out:

• A warning triangle in front of it
• A coloured edge down the side of the row
• The dot on the bell in that same colour while it's unread

Everything else in the panel can wait until you get to it, and because this one can't, we make it look different.

When you click the row, you go straight to Subscription, where you can sort the payment out. You'll hear again when it clears. See Your subscription.

New from Nydli

This is us, telling you what we've built or changed. The long ones have a Read more.

Once in a while, a message from us also opens in a box in the middle of the screen. You'll see it once, and it waits until you're not in the middle of something. When you close it, it counts as read, and you can still find it in the bell afterwards.

Mark one as read, or all of them

You can clear one with Mark as read, or all of them at once with Mark all as read.

Nothing disappears when you read it. It just stops counting as new.

Does anybody else get told?

When you assign a task to somebody, they get it on their bell, and the same goes for ticking it off, archiving it or putting it in the Bin, as long as they're the one it's assigned to.

We never tell you about what you did yourself.

You do hear when a job you set going finishes while you're somewhere else, and that's the import notice.

Everything else stays where it always was, in the Activity log, whenever you want to look.

A line across the top

Sometimes we need to tell everybody about something that's happening in Nydli right now, like maintenance tonight or something that isn't working while we fix it. When that happens, you'll see a line across the top of the page, above everything else, and we put it on the sign-in page too.

The colour tells you how serious it is. A lavender line is just for your information, while a yellow one means something in Nydli isn't working as it should. If it's red, we're asking you to do something, or to hold off on something, right now. When the line gives a time, it's Norwegian time.

You can close it with the cross at the end, and it stays closed in that browser until we change what it says. We never put the line in the bell, so when it's over, it's gone for everybody.
