Your subscription
Open Settings → Subscription to see which plan you're on, what it costs you and when it renews. Only the account owner sees this section, because billing belongs to the account that pays, and an account can own several workspaces.
Your plan
Nydli comes as Solo or Team. The page names the one you're on, what you pay and when the next charge falls. Plan usage underneath it shows how many of your users, workspaces and gigabytes of storage you've used, and how much room you have left. Archived workspaces count towards those figures, because we're still storing their content.
Change plan moves you up a plan, or from monthly to yearly, and takes effect at once. We work out what you owe for the rest of the period you've already paid for and charge the difference. Paying yearly gets you two months free.
Going the other way, to a smaller plan or from yearly back to monthly, happens in the customer portal. The page links you there.
Invoices, and the card that pays them
Settings → Invoices is the paper trail. You'll find your next bill, the card we'll charge for it, what we print on your invoices and the invoices themselves. Update card is there too, and so is View on every line of the payment history.
Paddle, and why that name is on your receipt
Nydli is sold through Paddle, who take the payment, issue the invoices and handle sales tax on our behalf. They're the merchant of record, so their name is what your bank shows on the statement, and the receipt for each payment arrives from them.
Your card details never reach us. Cancelling and updating a payment method both run through Paddle's own pages, and Nydli links you straight to the right one.
Cancelling, and changing your mind
Cancel subscription is a link at the foot of the Subscription page, and it takes you to the cancellation page directly.
Cancelling doesn't cut you off. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you've already paid for, and Settings shows that date so you can check it without digging out the email.
After that date the workspace turns read-only for 30 days. Everything you've put in is still there, you can still read it and you can still download it, but you can't change anything.
Subscribe again inside those 30 days and it all comes back exactly as you left it. After the 30 days we delete the content, so take a copy of anything you want to keep before then. See Exporting your work.
Changed your mind before the cancellation takes effect? The Subscription page offers Keep my subscription, which takes you back to the portal to undo it. Billing then carries on as before.
Once a subscription has actually ended you can't restart that one. Subscribing again starts a new subscription, and inside those 30 days your workspace picks up exactly where it was.
If a payment fails
Cards expire and banks decline things. When a renewal payment doesn't go through, Paddle tries again over the following days and emails you about it, and Settings says so rather than telling you the subscription "ran out".
The bell in Nydli says so as well, with a warning mark on it — the only notice that gets one. See Notifications.
The fix is usually a new card, which settles it straight away. If the workspace has gone read-only in the meantime, updating the payment method brings editing back as soon as the payment clears.
Reminders before anything goes wrong — a card about to expire, a yearly subscription about to renew — come from Paddle by email, at the address on your subscription. Nydli doesn't repeat them, so the bell stays quiet until something actually needs you.
Something looks wrong
If the dates in Settings don't match what you expect, or you think you've been charged twice, get in touch. We can see the history of your subscription and can sort it out. Please don't cancel and re-subscribe to fix it yourself, because that usually makes the picture harder to untangle.
