Solo and Team

Nydli comes in two sizes. They do exactly the same things.

The difference is how much room you get, and we won't nag you to move up to Team.

Solo

Solo is for one person, and it comes with two workspaces on purpose. What you keep in them is up to you, and we never ask. See More than one workspace.

You can't invite anybody on Solo. When somebody else needs to be in there with you, that's Team.

Team

Team is up to five people, and that counts you. Everybody signs in as themselves and logs their own hours, and a role decides what they can see and change. See Members and roles.

Team doesn't count workspaces. Make as many as the work needs.

You get 14 days free

You pick Solo or Team when you sign up, and the trial starts there. Nothing is held back: the plan you picked is the plan you get, working exactly the way it will work once you pay for it. We don't ask for your card.

That's the point of a trial: what you learn in those 14 days is still true on day 15.

Picked Solo and then found you need somebody else in there? Go up to Team whenever you like, and the trial carries on. Switching plans costs nothing while you're still trying it, because nothing has been charged yet.

On day 15, if you haven't subscribed, the workspace locks. Nothing is deleted. Everything you put in is still there to read, and you can still download all of it. Subscribe and it opens up again exactly as you left it. See Your subscription for how long a locked workspace stays readable.

Three things that aren't obvious until they bite

  • Archived workspaces still count. We're still storing everything in them, so archiving one won't free anything up. You'd have to delete it.
  • An invitation holds a place from the moment you send it until it's accepted, revoked or expires.
  • The same person in two workspaces counts twice.

Settings → Subscription shows what you've used against what you have.

Ask us if you need more of something

We can raise the limits on your account without moving you to another plan. That's often the easier way when you need one more person.

You can change plan whenever you like

While you're still on the free trial, you can switch either way in Settings as often as you like. Nothing has been charged, so there's nothing to work out.

Once you're paying, Change plan in Settings takes you up to Team, and it happens at once. Going back down to Solo runs through the customer portal, and Settings links you there. That's because moving down means money back and seats to remove part-way through a month, and the portal is where refunds are handled.

See Your subscription for what happens to the billing when you do.

Nothing is ever deleted because a limit dropped. If you move down to a plan smaller than what you're using, everything stays exactly where it is. Nydli just won't let you add another until you're back inside the limit.
